PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
This role is responsible for managing relationships key retail clients to drive sales and growth. Key responsibilities include promotions, developing and executing sales strategies, managing trade marketing activities, and coordinating with internal teams..
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive sales revenue by identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities, promotional agreements, and developing strategies to expand market penetration.
- Develop and execute account-specific strategies based on market insights, customer needs, and business objectives, including annual plans for marketing and sales activities.
- Manage sales operations, action sales improvement opportunities, and secure a strong product presence within the market.
- Action call compliance by visiting strategic customers over a 4-week period, conducting reviews and plans with buyers.
- Action Promotional Compliance by identifying sales opportunity drivers, trends and pricing, discuss and develop a plan with the client to ensure optimal sales volume growth on all suppliers, in all outlets. Oversee demand forecasting and ensure that returns targets for all suppliers are met as defined.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer/consumer insights to inform decision-making and monitor adherence to strategies and budgets.
- Ensure smooth supply chain operations, maintain product visibility and availability in stores, and manage inventory levels to avoid stockouts and overstocking.
- Minimise sales returns/damaged goods and short-dated goods by monitoring returns, developing a depletion plan and avoiding overstocking the points of sales.
- Manage Key Accounts budgets efficiently to maximize return on investment (ROI) and achieve business goals.
- Reporting and Analysis: Monitor sales performance metrics, provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management, and keep track of competitor activities.
- Lead, motivate, mentor, and manage the team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales goals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree or Diploma in Commerce, Marketing or Sales field.
- Minimum five (5) years’ relevant working experience within a Sales, Key Accounts and General Management role.
- Experience of the FMCG environment will be a distinct advantage
- Valid code B Licence
