Distribution Manager: X1 Windhoek

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s distribution operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement and storage of goods. This includes managing warehouse and logistics teams, optimizing inventory levels, coordinating order fulfillment, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and optimize warehousing and logistics operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
• Monitor and manage stock levels, delivery times, and transportation costs to ensure timely and cost-effective fulfilment.
• Coordinate and control the order cycle from order entry to delivery.
• Oversee the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of goods movement and storage.
• Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with transportation providers.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the company’s overall distribution strategy.
• Coordinate the movement of goods and order fulfilment
• Optimize inventory levels and storage of goods
• Manage fleet and report on fleet status to Operations Executive.
• Manage warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallets.
• Assist in the opening and closing of the warehouse and related management duties as directed by senior management
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service.
• Source reliable suppliers and negotiate favourable rates aligned with company budgets and targets

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma or Degree in any of the Demand Chain Disciplines, or at least 5 years’ experience within a supervisory role in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant Warehouse, Logistics, or transport operations experience within the FMCG or related industry. Material Management Systems Experience required
• Valid code CE Licence
